BigLift Shipping and owner company Spliethoff together own and operate a modern fleet of some 73 vessels, including 13 specialized heavy-lift vessels with their own lifting gear and 60 multi-purpose tweendeck vessels.

BigLift Shipping is specialized in the worldwide transportation of heavy lifts and project cargoes, with a history going back as far as 1973. All heavy-lift vessels are equipped with their own gear with capacities ranging from 450 to 1400 tonnes and some with ro-ro capability for loads up to 2500 tonnes.

Spliethoff is a specialist in, among other things, the transportation of line pipe and plant equipment for the oil and gas industry and large cable equipment for the telecom industry. The 60 multi-purpose tweendeck vessels are equipped with fast-moving cranes, with a lifting capacity up to 240 tons.

Staff in the offices and on board the vessels have many years of experience in handling all kinds of heavy lifts and project cargoes. Careful planning, engineering, coordination and supervision to ensure safe transportation, are all a matter of course. Between them, BigLift Shipping and Spliethoff, Amsterdam can handle the shipment of all types of dry cargo, including the largest projects, anywhere in the world.
